Staylittle or in Welsh Penffordd-las, is a small village set in the shallow upland basin of the Afon Clywedog. A short drive from the accommodation is the Glaslyn Nature Reserve. Our local beaches are a 40-minute drive away and they are not to be missed, clean sandy beaches with dedicated dog friendly areas, all year round. Our local town is Llanidloes the first town on the River Severn, a town that offers an array of cafes, gift shops and pubs.
We are less than a 10 minute drive or a 20 minute walk to the Clywedog Reservoir where you'll find the exceptional Llyn Clywedog Trout Fishery, and the Clywedog Sailing & Paddle Sports Club.
Take a drive to the Bryntail Lead Mines and stop off at Caffi Clywedog for a bite to eat while looking over the dramatic Clywedog Dam.
The area is truly a place of natural beauty, and there is plenty to see, Take a walk around the Clywedog and you may be lucky to see the Osprey fishing, between April to Mid September.
The Hafren Forest is accessible from our front door and is a beautiful place to walk. You can walk to the source of the Severn or if you fancy a little bit of a challenge you can walk to Plynlimon Fawr the highest point in Mid Wales.
The National Cycle Route NCR 8, Lon Las Cymru and the long-distance footpath Glyndwrs Way pass by our accommodation.
